Since the advent of Dominica's national competitive pageants in 1957, the Convent High School has built a proud legacy of victors in both the Teen and Miss Dominica pageants. These forces of talent, beauty and intelligence contribute to local community and culture, and present role models for the girls and young women who look up to them. This year, the Convent High School was proud to welcome back one such success, Mrs Marcella LaRocque-Menal.

CheyenneMrs LaRocque-Menal, a Convent High School alumni, was Miss Dominica 1989 and set the national record by obtaining five regional Crowns during her reign. While visiting on Creole Day, she spoke proudly of her alma mater, reminiscing about her days at the CHS and expressing heartfelt gratitude to an institution which helped to set the foundation for the thriving individual she is today.

Mrs LaRocque-Menal was then honored to continue the legacy by sashing the Convent High School 2017 Miss Teen Pageant contestant, Miss Cheyenne Zoe Dewhurst. Resplendent in traditional wob dwiyet, Miss Dewhurst gracefully introduced herself to her peers who applauded in enthusiastic support. A fourth form student, Miss Dewhurst is a passionate lover of music and painting, as well as a diligent pupil of karate. With such a spectrum of talent polished by the experienced tutelage of chaperones such as Ms Audris Jno Baptiste, we have no doubt that she will shine on the eve of Sunday February 19th, 2017, and do the Convent High school proud. We wish Miss Dewhurst every success.
