The Convent High School Sign Language Club celebrated its 3rd Anniversary by recognizing International Week of the Hearing Impaired with an extra special assembly on Friday, September 26, 2014. The students all smartly clad in the new, yellow club shirts delivered the usual components of the assembly using American Sign Language (ASL); from the bible reading to the bidding prayers to the school song.

In the presence of the school body as well as parents, the club also seized the opportunity to recognize individuals who have assisted the club with certificates of gratitude. These individuals include Sr. Mary Gallagher, Ms. Isabella Prentice, Mrs. Tamara Lewis-Celestine. Ms. Zaimis Olmos of Neo Xpression was also recognized for designing the club’s new logo.

Principal, Mrs. Josephine Dublin was granted honorary membership into the club. She received a club pin, t-shirt and tote bag. Kaele Benjamin, Nickacey Jno. Finn, Paloma St. Jean; although immediate past members, also received their certificates of membership. They accepted on behalf of Josie-Ann LeBlanc and Munirih Marie who were unable to attend.

The new Executive was also presented to the school.  Visit the Sign Language Club Page for more details on the club and the members of the 2014-2015 Executive.
