Healing of our World. How is this done?

A special good morning to our principal Mrs Dublin, our teachers and other staff members, and all my school mates, this morning, our school is addressing the need to put an end to bullying.   Have you thought about how great it would be, if our school had no more bullies? Students would enjoy coming to school; our schools would be a place of happiness and parents would be comfortable that their children are safe once they are in the school environment-learning and playing and just having fun.

Throughout the course of this week, the Anti-Bullying Movement has led assembly highlighting different themes on the campaign against bullying. But if we want to heal the world, can we ever stop wars and fighting without putting an end to bullying?  Most wars are fought when a powerful and dominating people bully and kill people who are weaker than them. We can end bullying by simply ending the insults we give one another.  We can heal the world with love and understanding.  We must stop the bullying of our brothers and sisters.

So my appeal to my school mates, we can begin to heal the world one day at a time if we can end bullying in our beloved school, the Convent High School.  Let us not pretend that it does not bother each one of us in one way or another.   As a member of the Anti-Bullying movement I am proud to say that this group is ready and willing to take up the initiative to stop all manner of bullying.  As Micheal Jackson sang in his hit song Man in the Mirror “If we want to make the world a better place, we have to first look at ourselves and make that change”. The anti-bullying movement fights for this, we recognize as a group that we must first change ourselves, the way we deal with each other to succeed in stamping out the bullying and heal the world. This change can only come if we work hard, really hard by reporting vicious acts whether they are done by the phenomenon of cyber-bullying or emotional or physical bullying.  As a student body, we must unite and take the first step of change by stopping the bullying we do on a daily basis. Only then can we say CHS stands against bullying, only then can we heal the world! Only then can We Say CHS is BULLY-PROOF!
