Literacy Week in CHS began on Monday, 14th May, 2012 and ended on Friday the same week.

On Monday, 14th May, the English Department started off Literacy Week with an unforgettable assembly. Ms. Corbette entertained the student body with a beautiful musical piece played on the flute. After, Ms. Sorhaindo recited a famous quote by Samuel Johnson: "A writer only begins a book. A reader finishes it." This left the students quite puzzled but only later to discover the true meaning of it. There was the daily bible reading and reflection read by Ms. Jeffery, numerous songs sang by Ms. Matthew and Ms. Perez and many bidding prayers were also said. To end the assembly, we are again reminded of the quote. Then Ms. Sorhaindo told a humorous fable and encouraged us to 'finish' the story.
