As H.F.L.E. Week came to a close, the Green Movement of CHS led us in assembly for the final time this week. The invited guests - Mr Kenneth Darroux- Minister for Environment, Colin Pipier,  Discover Dominica, and a former teacher of CHS, Ms Dionne Durand, currently the Public Relations Secretary for the Ministry of Education were wowed by a soulful rendition of 'There's a Peace' sung by various members of Form 5-A.

Kellisha Blaize gave us a short description on the Green Movement, after which Kitwanie Carbon, the PRO of the Environmental Club of the Green Movement led us in prayer. The Bible reading, taken from Ephesians 2:11-18 was read by Arlene Ferrol and Imrah Darymple. In reflection of the reading a poem was recited by Jerina Darymple. Following the poem, 4 bidding prayers were offered to which we responded 'Lord, grant us peace'.

Following this,'Pray,' a song by Justin Bieber was sung by Massara Groton, Philadelphia Cadet and Ellaina Joseph. Afterwards, tokens of Garbage Bags and rags were then distributed to the Environmental Officers of all Forms. Following this there was a short message from Kitwanie Carbon, PRO. A dozen students of 5-A, danced to the song 'Care' by Kid Rock, which was choreographed by Jessie Cognet, student of 5A. The Environmental Club's theme song composed by our very own Head Girl- Kadie Williams was performed.

Ms Jno Baptiste, class teacher of 5-A  introduced Mr Kenneth Darroux who spoke on the topic of Environmental Awareness. Tokens of appreciation were then given to Mr Darroux and Mr Colin Pipier. Also, tokens were given to Sionessa George and Felicia Pierre, antecedent members of form 5-D (2010-2011) which started the Green Movement. The first meeting of the Environmental Club, open to new members will be on Tuesday 31st January, 2012 at 3:00 p.m.
