Genora Joseph is Miss CHS Queen of Queens

Genora Joseph (’98) is the winner of the Convent High School Queen of Queens Pageant that was held at the Old Mill Cultural Centre on Saturday, 19 April.

Five other former pageant titleholders participated in the pageant. They were Shana Louise Elizee (’02), Michelle Joseph (’09), Samirah Joseph (’07), Leandra Lander (’02), and Dr. Velda Wade (’93).

Joseph, who is a former Miss Zodiac and Miss UWI Trinidad, was able to edge out her competitors by winning three of the four prizes. She won Best Spectacular Wear for her National Dress made of colourfully designed newspapers. She also won Best Evening Wear and Best Interview prizes.

Lander, former Miss Dominica, Miss Carival , Miss Caribbean Culture and Miss Jaycees Caribbean was first runner up. Dr. Wade, former Miss Wob Dwiyet, was second runner-up and was also awarded the remaining Best Talent prize for her monologue and Moko Jumbie presentation. Michelle Joseph, former Miss Teen Dominica, was third runner-up.

The evening’s event also included a Talent Show, which showcased the talent of present students of CHS. The students performed between the segments of the pageant. A special highlight of the talent show was a dance by five CHS staff members.
