“Give and it will come back to you... pressed down, shaken together and running over.” It is the season of Christmas, a time of family gatherings, feasting and cheerfulness . Smiles are wider, spirits are jolly and lending hands are everywhere.

To kick off this season of benevolence, the Convent High School Student Council partnered with Queens and Tins, a food drive initiative organized by the present reigning Carnival Queen, Ms Tasia Floissac. To this end, through the generosity of parents, students and teachers, the Council was able to collect 72 cans of food. The items, which consisted of canned milk, meat and veggies, were added to the approximately four hundred cans collected by the reigning Queen and her team, and divided into ten hampers. On Sunday 11th December, these hampers were presented to families in the communities of Coulibistrie, Massacre, Paix Bouche, Fond St Jean, Goodwill and the Kalinago Territory. “They were truly thankful and touched ,” said Ms Leandra Lander, Ms Floissac’s head chaperone.

So let the season of merriment and magnanimity continue. The CHS Student Council wishes all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
