Convent High School High Achievement Prize Giving Ceremony

Approximately 75 students of the Convent High school from First to Fourth Form received awards for their achievement in academics and school spirit today, July 6. The students received these awards at a special assembly this morning which began at 9.00 a.m.

 

Msgr. William John-Lewis, chaplain of the school, opened this morning’s assembly with an opening prayer. Other invited guests were, the President of the Convent High School Parent Teachers Association, Mr. Nathanial George, retired teacher, Mrs. Bertha Toulon, Parents and Guardians of awardees, and the school body.

 

Rhona Vigilant led the National Anthem and the closing School song and teacher Ms. Gem Eloi read the Gospel of the day. The CHS Chorale, the school band, as well as the Dance troupe performed at this ceremony.

 

Ms Kaidie Williams, President of the CHS Communications Club welcomed the invited guests and Ms Leah Dodds, the Fourth Form student with the highest academic average gave the vote of thanks and encouraged all students to continue to strive for excellence and to engage in uplifting activity during their holidays, as she quoted from Voltaire “Work spares us from three evils: boredom, vice, and need.”

Mrs Bertha Toulon added her special touch to the ending of the assembly by leading the Holiday song.
