At present the Dominica Collection has been entered and entering the West Indian Collection (one of the best in the region) is on going. The Library catalog can be searched from any computer on the web and there are links to search libraries world wide to see if an item is in a library near you.

It is hoped that improving access to this valuable resource will not only give added impetus to the full computerization of the library system but also contribute greatly to the development of Dominica by the increased utilization of this resource by entrepreneurs, students etc.

The computerization of the library was part of the grant application prepared by DAAS in 2005 and submitted to the Gates Foundation. This was not successful. However work continued off and on using whatever contributions were available locally and from the diaspora to implement this project.  The dedication of the librarians, staff and volunteers ( notable Peter Bannis ) have brought the project to this stage. There is still a lot to be done and the Library welcomes assistance. Hits: 2238
