Reflection on Colours

I have stolen colors from the sunset and poured them into my cup of dawn. Then I softened them with storm clouds and slivers of rain. I emptied the colors onto dewy morning grass with borders of midnight’s fleeting hue and then surrounded them with dancing wildflowers that grow at the edge of the sea. I taught them to sing like the mountains and whisper like the breeze, so that should they ever fade beyond recognition, my colors could call upon me. I gave them lions for protection and kissed them to sleep every night. I let them stain me as I weaved them through with stars. I watched my colors grow dusty as the thick fog bore down. Then I saw them fade until in a dream alone they remained
