Contorted Shadow

I’m falling into my shadow

The replica of me

The one I cannot see

In the mid-day light

It lurks behind me, though

Even where I cannot see it.

It follows me wherever I go

Reminding me of my sorry past

Haunting me in my sleep

Overtaking my dreams,

Overcoming my hopes

And so I am DROWNING in my shadow

The replica of me

So inclined to darkness, what moral of soul can there be?

Therefore inclined to imagine what life would be if only light existed.

Forced to accept the fact that my shadow is my darkness and my darkness HALF makes me.

Forced to imagine what life would be if I was born of light, and lived of light, and breathed of light only.

I cannot help it.

I’m falling into my shadow.

Contorted Shadow.
