Kidnapped

A young woman stood staring at the fireworks in the sky. The Celestial Festival was taking place and the people were celebrating to the fullest. She should have been among the crowd below, as it was her duty as the Princess of Heronne, but she had excused herself. She  turned her attention to the people walking about in the streets; they all seemed so happy, so unaware.

The Darkness was growing stronger -getting  closer- and she was the only one who seemed to be aware of it. She would have to talk to her parents about it- maybe even advise them to call a council meeting.  She turned away from her balcony and entered her bedroom, closing the balcony doors behind her.

She had already covered half the distance to her bed when the door suddenly flew open. She turned around quickly in a defensive stance. Outside on her balcony stood a cloaked figure. Itshead was bent, causing the hood of its cloak to conceal its face more.

"Who are you and what business do you have here?" She asked bravely.

"My business is you, princess." The stranger said as it lifted its head, revealing the most handsome face the princess had ever seen. What captivated her the most was his amber eyes. "I want you to come with me."

"No, I shouldn't." She said in a whisper. She had intended to sound authoritative but had failed miserably.

"But, you want to. You can help yourself." He said staring into her eyes.

Against her will, Princess Azelia found her self walking closer towards the handsome stranger.  He smiled, revealed a pair of pearly white fangs. Azelia stopped suddenly.

"You're...you're a..." She whispered.

"Yes, yes I am. Now come quickly, we have to go." He held out his hands.

Once again, Azelia found herself walking, closing the distance between them. She placed her hands in his open palm when she got closer. He closed his hands, which were warmer than she had expected, over hers and then pulled her into an embrace. While he was still hugging her, a pair of large, black wings appeared on his back. With the princess in his arms the mysterious stranger took off into the night sky.

Below them the people of Heronne celebrated, unaware that their princess had just been kidnapped.
